Who We Are
YESHIVAS KAYITZ PRETORIA began its journey 7 years ago as in Costa Rica with the support of Chabad Lubavitch de Costa Rica and the approval of various Hanhalas Hayeshivos. (www.yeshivacostarica.com)
Well aware that bochurim at this age are too old to be a camper and too young to be a staff member, we designed something different. Geared for ages 15-17, YKP is comprehensive. It strengthens high levels of learning, offers amazing adventures, team-building, other life skills, Yiras Shomayim and an inspiring Chassidishe environment. But that wasn’t enough! To infuse our Yeshivas Kayitz with a lively spirit, interesting shiurim, and meaningful farbrengens, we handpicked experienced staff members, specifically chosen for their dedication, devotion and their ability to relate to younger bochurim. |
Why us |
Then we asked ourselves, how do we take our YKP to the next level? It had to be a game changer to ensure each bochur an amazing summer, b'Gashmios & b'Ruchniyus.
Our two-pronged solution: Provide every staff member with the best training, so that they would be not just good, but excellent. So we contracted Rabbi Zalmy Kudan from Training.MyGanIsrael.com to create a dynamic training course specific to our staff and the age of our Bochurim. Then we teamed up with Hanhalas Hayeshivas to develop a motivating and driven curriculum to push and inspire each Talmid.. |

Curriculum – Pushing the boundaries
Imagine a learning curriculum that will push each bochur’s ability, strengthen his weak points and celebrate his strong ones. YKP is proud to offer an innovative curriculum that does exactly that.
In a nutshell: over the past years we’ve come across a little fact again and again. When we would offer a high ticketed incentivized rewards, we would get over 85% success rates. This success included Talmidim whose Yeshivos told us “He's a Shvache learner, don’t bother trying.” B”h we’re able to say not true. With great incentives, doors open. Bochurim have proven to themselves that they are not that “Shvach” and they can learn!! Our vision is that every Talmid will say: I utilized all my learning time to the maximum, I was pushed beyond my comfort zone and I am now a better learner than before |
New this year - 5777
We’re excited to announce that Rabbi Moshe Minsky will be joining the YKP family as on-site Executive Director.
Moshe Minsky, the founder of Yeshiva Costa Rica, started the program in 5770 (2010) with only 16 bochurim. Under his leadership the program grew to over 50 bocuhrim. In 5776 (2016) the Yeshiva relocated to South Africa to become YKP. Rabbi Minsky brings over 7 years of experience and a proven track record in dealing and inspiring yeshiva students. We are proud to introduce YKP 5777. The stakes have never been higher. We plan on covering a large portion of Maseches Rosh Hashanah. Every 3 days there will be written & oral tests on content. Each week there will be a reward for all who score well. At the end of the summer there will be a major trip for those who consistently learned and mastered the content. It will not be easy but the reward will definitely be worth it! |
Is the YKP program right for Me
YKP is primarily a Learning Program. Its main focus is on learning and keeping to a Yeshiva Seder (up to 6 hours a day). Our amazing trips are the incentive. So please make sure this is what you really want, as not to have any issues down the road.
